"Working with JAVALI to develop the website for CCP - Coleção de Culturas do Porto, was extremely positive. From the start of the project, the team demonstrated great professionalism, listening skills and a solid technical mastery, managing to rigorously translate the CCP's specific needs into a functional, clear and visually consistent website.

We would particularly highlight the closeness of the support, the flexibility in project management and the speed of response throughout the process, including the support and maintenance phase. The end result fully meets our expectations and is an asset for the dissemination and enhancement of the Collection.

It was a pleasure to work with JAVALI, a partnership we recommend and hope to continue developing in future projects."

Results

The Porto Culture Collection (CCP), a scientific infrastructure integrated into the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Porto, was looking to modernize its digital presence and strengthen the way it communicates with the national and international scientific community.

JAVALI developed a new Drupal 10 platform, geared towards accessibility, structural clarity and editorial autonomy. The result is a robust institutional website with intuitive navigation, direct access to the microbial catalog and optimized forms for requesting scientific services.

CCP needed an institutional portal that reflected its status as a leading scientific infrastructure.

The main objectives were:

  • Clearly present its mission and scientific services;
  • Ensure quick and structured access to the microbial catalog;
  • Improve the user experience for technical and non-technical audiences;
  • Allow autonomous updating of content by the internal team;
  • Integrate institutional news and highlights;
  • Implement good SEO and indexing practices.

It was not just a visual redesign, but a complete reorganization of the information architecture.

The choice of Drupal 10 was strategic: flexibility, scalability and the ability to manage structured scientific content.

JAVALI's intervention included:

  • Development of a customized theme, in line with the institutional identity;
  • Redefinition of the information architecture and navigation flows;
  • Implementation of a webform for requesting services and contacts;
  • Structuring the microbial catalog using Views;
  • Use of Layout Builder for greater editorial autonomy;
  • Configuration of SEO modules (Metatag, Pathauto, Redirect, XML Sitemap);
  • Technical preparation for future core and module updates.

The aim was to create a solid technological base prepared for continuous evolution.

The new portal positions CCP with a digital presence in line with current scientific and technological communication standards. Among the results achieved:

  • Fully responsive and accessible platform;
  • Significant improvement in the browsing experience;
  • Reduced operational effort in content management;
  • Greater clarity in the presentation of scientific services;
  • Direct and structured access to the microbial catalog;
  • Infrastructure prepared for future integrations and evolutions.
