Menção honrosa prémio abertura 2019

The Ministry of National Defence's project with the Military Recruitment Portal, developed by JAVALI, was one of the three finalists nominated for the Abertura Award 2019, which received an honourable mention from ESOP Vice-President Paulo Ribeiro and was presented to the Director of the Military Service Professionalization Services, Colonel Vitor Borlinhas.

The 2019 Abertura Award is intended to distinguish entities that contribute to the promotion of Open Source software and Open Technologies in Portugal, and is awarded by ESOP, the Association of Portuguese Open Source Software Companies. This year's prize was awarded on October 4, at the 17th edition of Open Source Lisbon, under the theme "Open Source: Leading The Generation Shift", at the Belém Cultural Center.

In a statement, "The DGRDN is grateful for the commitment and professionalism shown by the Javali team, which has always sought to use its technical knowledge to meet the wishes of this directorate-general in the development of the Military Recruitment Portal. The Portal required the implementation of many "custom-made" solutions that would allow the project to scale in the future, and Javali was always available to advise on the best solutions. We highlight Javali's permanent willingness to make changes during the project, and the fact that they provide basic training on how to manage your back-office. Above all, it's a team that's very easy to work with, which allows us to streamline processes a lot."

Developed by JAVALI, the Ministry of National Defence's project: Military Recruitment Portal centralizes all the information related to the professions of the three branches of the armed forces in a single space, enabling exploratory browsing according to the young candidate's profile. It also gives the Ministry of National Defense the possibility of auditing all of the portal's code, since it is open source and based on Drupal. In terms of accessibility, the portal was delivered at AAA level. Thus JAVALI, using Open Source technology, more specifically Drupal CMS, has contributed to the simplification of Public Administration services and this development is covered by the Simplex+ 2018 measure.
