UCCLA is an international organization that promotes cooperation between cities and companies in the Portuguese-speaking area, with the aim of strengthening their infrastructures, fostering economic, social and cultural development, and encouraging technological innovation.

JAVALI is delighted to have taken on the challenge proposed by UCCLA to revamp its website, which is now available here. The new website has a more appealing and user-friendly design that reflects the identity and values of this prestigious organization.

Using Drupal version 10, the new platform is based on a more organized and intuitive information structure, contributing to an optimized browsing experience. The website is adaptable to various devices, from desktop to smartphone and tablets, and includes a simplified backoffice interface. This interface allows the UCCLA team to manage its content in an agile and autonomous way, while maintaining high standards of security and robustness.

One of the fundamental pillars of the project was the complete migration of all content and data from the previous version (Drupal 7) to the new platform. This process ensured the preservation of history and continuity of information, while also introducing improvements in usability and accessibility.

The development of the new website was guided by digital accessibility best practices, in accordance with WCAG 2.1 best practices, which ensures that the site is inclusive for all users, including those with visual impairments. Usability was also a priority, providing intuitive navigation and a hassle-free user experience.

With a collaborative approach, the project involved working sessions between JAVALI and UCCLA to fully align the organization's needs and objectives. This joint effort resulted in a platform that not only meets the technical requirements, but also reflects the spirit and mission of the UCCLA.
