The project "Valorization and Use of the Mediterranean Forest, the case of the Municipality of Loulé" sees its website flourish, by JAVALI!

This project, co-funded by the European Union, is a noble initiative of the Manuel Viegas Guerreiro Foundation and Loulé City Council and will launch its website at https://florestamediterranica.pt.

It aims not only to contribute to improving the delimitation and characterization of the capacity for intervention in the biophysical systems associated with the Mediterranean forest, but also to define options for the socio-ecological and productive dynamization of the municipal area associated with this type of forest (with special emphasis on the Barrocal, Meia Serra and Serra do Caldeirão), identifying activities that support, in an integrated way, the dynamization of local communities and the revitalization of the forest area of the Municipality of Loulé.

In line with the project's objectives, JAVALI developed a multilingual website (in Portuguese and English) using Drupal version 9, with an appealing design that adapts (responsive) to different devices (desktop, tablets and smartphones) and a very intuitive backoffice for those who manage the content.

With the website, the residents of Loulé and beyond can find out more about the project, its various activities, such as publications and results, as well as upcoming events, such as workshops and a national conference.

In a statement, Pedro Gonçalves of the Manuel Viegas Guerreiro Foundation said: "The purpose of information and communication about co-financed projects is to inform citizens about the role of the European Union in economic and social development in our country.

The website will be a privileged channel for publicizing this operation and its results, as well as the transparency of the support granted. It brings out the best that new information and communication technologies have to offer these days: i) productivity, in content management, with a functional and clear BackOffice, and ii) communication, combined with a harmonious and natural structure in the presentation of information.
