MobiCascais, an international reference in sustainable mobility, renews its web presentation by JAVALI

Mobicascais

As a "national and international example of an integrated, economical, efficient and sustainablemobility system", MobiCascais is based on an integrated system for managing sustainable mobility in Cascais, which seeks to promote the use of public transport and soft mobility solutions.

With the aim of meeting the needs of the inhabitants, workers, businesspeople and visitors to its municipality, Cascais City Council is inaugurating the MobiCascais platform at: https://mobi.cascais.pt.

The MobiCascais project encompasses various applications, technologies and entities. JAVALI, in partnership with CM-Cascais, was responsible for developing the web presentation using Drupal. This project made it possible to integrate various systems in order to provide information on the network of service operators, as well as consulting public transport routes and their timetables for travel within the municipality. A section of tutorials and frequently asked questions was also developed, as well as a section on the various initiatives of the Municipality of Cascais, where the information is presented in an organized and intuitive way, facilitating and helping to improve the user's browsing experience. Common features in all JAVALI projects include best practices in search engine optimization (SEO), accessibility for people with visual impairments and a design that adapts (responsive) to different devices (desktop, tablet and smartphones).

The new MobiCascais platform offers a diverse and flexible set of mobility solutions and services, such as bicycles for bike sharing or leisure, buses, scooters, parking spaces, electric chargers and a car sharing service.

In a statement, Cristina Almeida, from the Brand and Communication Division of Cascais City Council, said: "Javali has been a partner of Cascais City Council on several projects, and - due to its experience and flexibility - was chosen to develop the Mobi website, Cascais' integrated sustainable mobility management system.

Due to its complexity, it was a challenging project and we believe that Javali was up to the task, with the end result living up to expectations."
