Ministry of National Defense launches new Military Recruitment portal by JAVALI

Recrutamento Militar

The Ministry of National Defense has just launched the new Military Recruitment portal with the aim of promoting careers in the Armed Forces and simplifying access to recruitment information for the three branches: Navy, Army and Air Force, in a personalized and intuitive way and targeted at the prospective candidate, and it is included in the SIMPLEX program.

This project was developed by JAVALI, which has extensive know-how in the area and is driven by a passion for agile development and innovation. It used its tool of choice, Drupal, the open source web content manager (CMS) that guarantees best development practices and the ability to evolve, and also managed to ensure that the main measures in designing a portal were applied, such as: Accessibility, which obtained level AAA (maximum level) of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C); Usability, being an intuitive and user-friendly portal; Code standards, the latest W3C code formats were used which allow for constant technical updating; Responsive web design and Interoperability and open standards, complying with article no. 2/2018, of January 5, of the Resolution of the Council of Ministers that revises the National Digital Interoperability Regulation (RNID).

In a statement, "The DGRDN is grateful forthe commitment and professionalism shown by the Javali team, which has always sought to use its technical knowledge to meet the wishes of this directorate-general in the development of the Military Recruitment Portal. The Portal required the implementation of many "custom-made" solutions that would allow the project to scale in the future, and Javali was always available to advise on the best solutions. We highlight Javali's permanent willingness to make changes during the project, and the fact that they provide basic training on how to manage your back-office. Above all, it's a team that's very easy to work with, which allows us to streamline processes a lot."

The collaboration that was established between DGRDN and JAVALI for the development of this project was fundamental, as the end result was an urgent, more effective communication tool to support recruitment, as part of the action plan for professionalization, launched in April, and through which the government and the Armed Forces have the mission of responding to the challenge of recruiting more and better, retaining more time, and qualifying young people for military service when there is a crisis of vocations.

The Ministry of National Defense is the government department of the Portuguese central administration whose mission is to formulate, conduct, execute and evaluate national defense policy within the scope of the powers conferred on it by the National Defense Law, as well as to ensure and supervise the administration of the Armed Forces and the other services, bodies, entities and structures integrated into it.
