The year 2020 opens with the launch of the OMI Group's new websites by JAVALI, which has developed a multisite project in Drupal 8 in order to provide centralized and organized management of all the websites.
One of the many features of this multisite project is the creation of multiple types of content, taxonomies and webforms to ensure uniform presentation of content on all the group's sites, and the development and integration of more than 250 graphics, updated in real time.
In order to meet the Group's requirements, various profiles/roles were created for backoffice management, giving the communication/information systems teams total autonomy in creating and editing content, colors, labels and translations, as well as the possibility of creating microsites (under development). The media module was integrated, allowing for better organization/search of images, documents and files, making it possible to use one file on the various sites, and the migration of all content and users was ensured.
On the OMIP and OMIClear websites in particular, a reserved area is being developed with access to subscriptions subject to approval.
JAVALI's constant concern has been responsive web design (viewing on various devices), accessibility, security and data privacy (GDPR).
Another factor that contributed very positively to efficient and effective communication with the OMI Group was the use of agile project management, using SCRUM as the development methodology. During the course of the project, fortnightly sprints were held in which a set of developments were delivered to the OMI Group, taking into account their prioritization, which was stipulated at the weekly Sprint Planning Meeting .
With its new websites, the Iberian Electricity Market Operator (OMI) offers its potential and current users a better browsing experience that ensures full and intuitive access to all its content, both corporate and market results.
In a statement, "The companies of the Iberian Electricity Operator have been satisfied with the work carried out by Javali on the complex project to renew their websites, which also had to fit in with a very demanding schedule".
The OMI Group is structured into two holding companies, OMEL and OMIP SGPS. Each company owns part of the two electricity market management companies on the Iberian Peninsula: OMIE, which manages the daily and intraday market, and OMI-Polo Português (OMIP), which manages the forward market. The management companies also hold a stake in OMIClear-Sociedade de Compensação de Mercados de Energia,SA.
