JAVALI and ESOP, represented by Mário Martins as Managing Partner of the former and Secretary of the Board of the latter, were present at the Dinner-Debate on "GDPR: Myths and Realities" organized by APDSI - Association for the Promotion and Development of the Information Society.
At the event, APDSI set out to take stock of the challenges and difficulties in implementing the General Data Protection Regulation, both at company and public administration level, due to the existence of a new political agreement on the texts of the law implementing the GDPR and the organic law of the National Data Protection Commission (CNPD).
The Dinner-Debate was structured in two panels: one at the theoretical and legal level on the "New law implementing the GDPR", with the participation of Professor Alexandre Sousa Pinheiro (University of Lisbon), Professor Luís Antunes (University of Porto) and moderation by Luís Neto Galvão. The second panel focused on the functioning, restructuring and adaptation of companies to the new law. The speakers were the Instituto de Informática (II, IP) in the person of its Vice-President, Dr. João Sequeira, Dr. Cristina Máximo dos Santos, Data Protection Officer (DPO) at Caixa Geral de Depósitos (CGD), and the DPO of the Shared Services of the Ministry of Health (SPMS), Dr. Ana Boto. The moderator was Wilson Lucas.
APSDI was able to count on the contributions of 60 participants, which will be included in a document with conclusions on the debate.
Created in 2001, the Association for the Promotion and Development of the Information Society (APDSI) aims to promote and develop digital transformation and inclusion in Portugal, bringing together professionals, academics, companies, public bodies and citizens in general with this common interest.
